The low-cost
airline Flybe flies to Brest from Birmingham, Exeter and Southampton.
Car hire is available at reasonable rates through their site flybe.com
or through a number of the usual operators, e.g., avis.fr, europcar.fr
etc.
The journey to the Manoir de Kercadic usually
takes about an hour. The airport is actually at Guipavas, to the
East of Brest, and it has easy access to the N12 dual carriageway.
Brest is a small airport and it is very difficult to get lost
here!
On leaving the airport, turn right and follow
the sign towards MORLAIX. At the T junction, take the D67 again
towards MORLAIX which says 50 kilometres. (Do not go towards BREST)
Continue under the bridge and turn left, following the green sign
towards MORLAIX. This takes you onto the N12 road, which you follow
until you pass Morlaix and then you will be following the signs
on the same road but now heading towards ST BRIEUC.
After about 25 minutes you will be approaching
GUINGAMP and see a panel depicting the town, take the very next
exit marked to GUINGAMP (Ouest), and turn left at the end of the
exit slipway. At the roundabout ignore the sign to GUINGAMP (Ouest),
and take the next exit marked to LANNION.
This puts you on the dual carriageway, and be
prepared to take the first exit after half a mile to PLOUISY ,
La ROCHE DERRIEN. You will immediately arrive at a small roundabout
and should take the second exit which puts you on a new section
of by-pass, following La Roche-Derrien signs.
Follow this road for a mile, and go straight
across the next roundabout. After a further mile turn left at
the final roundabout.
You will next see the large red and white buildings
of the UCA on the right.
Soon after you will find a right turn to SQUIFFIEC
and LANVOLLON, the D32.
Follow this road into Squiffiec and take the
left turn at 'Le Garfield' bar at the crossroads.
After 300 metres take the right turn indicated
to Manoir de Kercadic. After 100 metres turn left, and after a
further 300 metres turn right.
You will then see the dolmen and Manoir de Kercadic
on your left.
