To the MANOIR de KERCADIC from CHERBOURG (GPS: Lat 48.38.14N or 48.6372  Long 3.09.07W or -3.1523)

Leave Cherbourg heading South up the hill with the fort on your left, avoiding the right turn (D900 to Carteret). This will put you on the dual carriageway N13/E03 towards Valognes.

Continue on the Valognes bypass, then take the D2 to St Saveur.

After Coutance head for Avranches, and you will see that you have two options:

- D7 to Gavray then La Haye-Pesnel, a slightly tortuous route.

- D971 towards Granville, but taking the road about 4 kms after Brehal to avoid Granville.

Whichever route you choose you will arrive at the Avranches by-pass.

From there follow signs to Rennes on the N175, and very soon you will also find the signs for St Brieuc on the N175. From now on continue to follow St Brieuc, ignoring any other indications to Rennes. As you pass between Avranches and Dol de Bretagne you might be able to see Mont St Michel on your right, an impressive sight on a clear day.

After a while the N175 goes off to Mont St Michel and Rennes, ignore these and stay in the direction of St Brieuc, now on the N176.

You will soon pass over the river Rance still following the N176 towards St Brieuc. Depending upon the traffic, you will be about 90 minutes from Kercadic at this point. Follow the signs to join the N12 in the direction of St Brieuc.

Stay on the N12 heading towards Brest as you by-pass St Brieuc, and you will soon see signs for Guingamp.

About 15 minutes after passing St Brieuc you will see a sign showing Guingamp 7km, then 2 km later the C10 exit, then after a further 2 km the D5 Bellevue exit which you should take.

As you leave the N12 at the D5 exit be prepared for the give way sign some 300 metres up the exit slip road. Immediately after this take the right turn in the direction of Paimpol, Pontrieux.

Go straight across the next two roundabouts, following signs to Pabu. This puts you on a newly created by-pass for about 2 minutes, at the end of which is a third roundabout where you take the right exit - the D787 marked to Pabu, Pontrieux.

You will shortly pass the village sign for Pabu, but don't follow the right turn to Pabu centre, stay on the main road through Pabu and down the long hill after leaving the village.

In another minute you will come to a cross-roads with a restaurant on the right (The Ty Coat), there is a small island in the centre of the road, and you should pull over to take the left turn to Squiffiec. Follow this road as it crosses the river and you will arrive at the cross-roads in the centre of Squiffiec in another minute or so. There is a bar (The Garfield) at the cross roads where you turn right.

After 300 metres take the right turn indicated to Manoir de Kercadic. After 100 metres turn left, and after a further 300 metres turn right.

You will then see the dolmen and Manoir de Kercadic on your left.
